  • The Age Of Your Emotional Body In Relationships
  • 4-Questions To Create Better Relationships
    1. What’s going on in their world?
    2. What’s important them at this time?
    3. Am I listening to understand or listening to defend?
    4. Have I clearly communicated my perspective?
  • Here are 5-Attitudes people communicate with:
    1. Attack: You want to be right no matter what.
    2. Self-Doubt: Judge yourself, put yourself down. Fear of failing and being a victim.
    3. Curiosity: Mindful, observant and pause. Looking at the relationship with new eyes.
    4. Detective: Self-aware. You know what you want and speak your truth and honor your boundaries.
    5. Connection: Empathy, compassion, and understanding. You listen and care for the person the speaking.

“I don’t like that man. I must get to know him.”

    -President Lincoln

  • 4-Communication Styles:
    1. Talkers: Talking their thoughts through. They are interested in what do you want from me. Very high energy people.
    2. Thinkers: Thinking things through thoroughly. These communicators are listening for the where do they fit in.
    3. Visual: Turning words into pictures in your mind. These communicators like their environment to be tidy. The when is very important. Being on time is important.
    4. Feelers: Getting a feel for what’s occurring. These communicators are the finishers. They are listening for the why should I do that.
  • How to talk and how to listen (3):
    1. Don’t multi-task when talking with others. Be in the moment.
    2. Don’t pontificate or express your opinions in an arrogant way
    3. Enter every conversation assuming you have something to learn
    4. Use open-ended questions: who, what, when where, and why
    5. Go with the flow. Your thoughts will come in. Let them go back out.
    6. If you don’t know, say you don’t know
    7. Don’t equate your experience with theirs
    8. Try not to repeat yourself
    9. You don’t need all the details. They don’t matter as much as the connection.
    10. Listen

“An essential part of true listening is the discipline of bracketing, the temporary giving up or setting aside of one’s own prejudices, frames of reference and desires so as to experience as far as possible the speaker’s world from the inside, step in inside his or her shoes.”

    — M. Scott Peck

  1. Kayleen Evans says:

Before this program I was just gliding through life, mostly re-acting to what came my way. After this program, I feel more at peace and more like I have control over my life, reactions and emotions. I am a work in progress, but I have the tools to continue this journey only getting better for myself and others around me. I feel that I have better control of my health, money, relationships and all of the emotions that surround all of those things. Or perhaps it is the deeper awareness of it all that makes me feel more in control. I recommend this program to anyone who would like to take a deeper look into themselves, and others around them – to take pause and either make major changes or to just tweak things a little bit to move towards more love & forgiveness. Thank you Michelle for your teachings, wisdom and energy that you have infused into my life….. Kayleen Evans
