I had an agreement with someone who tried to go back on it. I noticed anger came up and I observed it and breathed into it as it slowly went away. I didn’t react from it. Then, I noticed I could think of a kind response and the agreement was set back in honour. =)
I on the board at my condo association and the board member who was leading the project was making sloppy decisions without asking other board members to take a vote and also taking his time to purchase something that I reminded him was seasonal so when he actually got around to purchasing it he was only able to buy 6/8 items. I pursued his decisions and reminded him of other members contributions that he had ignored. I got him to step up but not fully. I stated my opinion and expectations and he still dragged his feet but I just left it like that. Typically I would get mad without following through but this time my follow through left silence and room for him to step up. Not fully but more like 76%.
That’s great! It’s not about being perfect. It’s about noticing your patterns and choosing to make a shift from your heart. Simple but not easy. Great job!
